A native plant sale and garden walks are among the activities at this year’s Erythronium Festival, sponsored by Lifesource Natural Foods.
The festival is March 25-27 at Historic Deepwood Estate in Salem. Highlights include:
Native Plant Sale: Area vendors will sell a variety of native plants inside the greenhouse. March 25 and 26, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
Rita Steiner Nature Trail: 90-minute walk with Linda Boyer and Wilbur Bluhnm of the Oregon Native Plant Society, showcasing blooming Erythronium and other local native plants.
Lord & Schryver Conservancy Gardens: Short, guided walks addressing garden structure and how natives integrate into many garden types.
Author Presentations: Three authors talk about their books on Northwest nature and native plants. March 26.
Children’s Activity: Children are invited to plant seeds in a weather-friendly space and take them home to watch them grow. March 26.
Flower Photography Class: Learn and practice techniques for photographing flowers with a pocket digital camera. March 27, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; $80; call Deepwood to register.
