Sustainable Salem, formerly known as the Friends of Salem Saturday Market, is currently seeking dedicated, passionate board members.
Background:
- Sustainable Salem is a tax exempt 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Our mission is to encourage community support of local, sustainable agriculture, educate the public about healthy, locally produced food and goods, and enhances the creative, social and community aspects of the Salem Saturday Market.
- We are currently in a transitional phase with multiple board member positions open. The remaining members are open to new ideas, new energy and changing the focus of our programming.
- This is an exciting opportunity to help guide the direction of a Salem-based nonprofit!
Potential Projects:
- Local Farm Tours
- Sustainable Agriculture and Food Resource Guides
- Speaker Series and Workshops
- Large events, such as a Sustainability Fair
- Saturday Market enhancement activities
